How it works

Create an Instagram photo grid in three steps

1

Open the 3×3 preset

The editor starts with nine square panels on a 1:1 canvas. Use a smaller grid when you have fewer photos.

2

Add and arrange photos

Upload several images at once, or click a panel to replace only that photo. Drag inside a panel to adjust the crop.

3

Preview and download

Fine-tune spacing, corners, background, border and frame, then export the complete grid as PNG or JPG.

Plan the composition

How to make nine photos feel like one grid

A strong 3×3 layout needs variety and a visual thread. Mix wide views, close details and portraits, but keep a consistent color temperature or repeating accent color. Place the image with the strongest contrast near the center when you want it to anchor the composition.

Avoid putting two very busy photographs next to each other. Alternating detailed images with quieter backgrounds gives every panel room to breathe. The live editor lets you replace a single panel and drag its crop without disturbing the rest of the grid.

Choose the format

Square grid or portrait collage?

Use a 1:1 canvas for a classic square collage. Choose 4:5 when you want a taller image that takes up more vertical space in the feed. The canvas ratio controls the shape of the complete download; the 3×3 setting controls how many photo panels appear inside it.

If nine images are too many, switch to 2×2, 2×3 or 3×2. The same crop, spacing and download controls work with every layout.

Maker vs splitter

This tool combines photos; it does not slice one photo

An Instagram grid maker places several separate images into one organized composition. An Instagram grid splitter performs a different job: it cuts one large source image into separate tiles that are posted individually to rebuild a puzzle image across a profile. Use this maker when you have a collection of photos and want to compare, arrange or export them together.

You can download the finished grid as one image or use the preview to decide how separate photos look next to each other before publishing. Photo Grid Maker is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram or Meta.

FAQ

Instagram Grid Maker FAQ

What does an Instagram grid maker do?

It arranges several separate photos into one organized multi-panel image or helps you preview how a set of photos works together in a 3×3 composition.

Is this the same as an Instagram grid splitter?

No. A grid maker combines multiple photos in one layout. A splitter cuts one source image into several separate files that can be posted as profile tiles.

How many photos can I use?

A classic 3×3 grid holds nine photos, but the editor also supports smaller layouts and custom grids up to 5 rows by 5 columns.

Does the Instagram grid maker add a watermark?

No. Downloads do not include a Photo Grid Maker watermark, and no signup is required.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Photos are processed locally in your browser for editing and export.
