    Built for the current grid

An Instagram photo splitter with current 3:4 tiles

Instagram now supports photos up to 1080×1440 and profile grids display tall thumbnails. The default export uses one 1080×1440 file per tile, while the square option remains available for older layouts and other platforms.

A puzzle grid is different from a collage: one source image is divided into separate posts that visually reconnect on the profile. This page preserves that workflow and shows the visible gutters before you export.

    The seam problem

Preview and compensate for the space between posts

Most splitters cut adjacent rectangles and ignore the profile gutter. On diagonal lines, hair, lettering or architecture, the gap can make the image appear shifted. Grid gap correction removes a configurable sliver from the source at each seam so the profile reads as if the gutter covers part of one continuous image.

Keep faces and small text away from seams even with correction enabled. Instagram can change thumbnail presentation, and individual account settings may offer additional crop controls.

    Three steps

How to split an image for an Instagram grid

    1. Upload one photo.Use the largest original available; the image never leaves your browser.
    2. Choose the grid and crop.Start with 1×3, 2×3, 3×3 or 4×3, then adjust zoom, position and gap correction.
    3. Download and post 01 first. The ZIP reverses visual order automatically, from bottom-right to top-left.

    FAQ

    Instagram Photo Splitter FAQ

How do I use an Instagram photo splitter for 3, 6 or 9 posts?

Choose 1×3 for 3 posts, 2×3 for 6 posts or 3×3 for 9 posts. Position the source image in the preview, then download the ZIP and upload the numbered files beginning with 01.

What order should I post Instagram grid tiles?

Instagram places the newest post at the top-left, shifting earlier posts across and down. Post the bottom-right tile first and the top-left tile last. The downloaded ZIP already uses that order.

Should Instagram grid tiles be square or 3:4?

For the current profile grid, 3:4 at 1080×1440 is the default. Use the 1:1 option only when you intentionally need legacy square files. Instagram's official photo guidance currently accepts ratios from 1.91:1 through 3:4 at widths up to 1080 pixels.

Why do seams look misaligned on a profile?

A visible gutter separates each profile thumbnail. Turn up Grid gap correction so the export skips the narrow source-image strip that would sit behind that gutter. Use the live preview to check diagonal lines, faces and text.

Are my photos uploaded or stored?

No. Decoding, cropping, tile rendering and ZIP packaging happen locally in your browser. Closing the page clears the working image.
