The crop problem
Make different-size photos fit one Instagram carousel
Instagram now offers a Mixed or Original option on many accounts, but very tall or wide photos can still fall outside the supported range. Choosing a uniform Portrait or Square series can also crop important edges from the photos that do not match.
This resizer gives you a predictable fallback and a consistent visual rhythm. It keeps each complete source image visible, then adds a solid-color or blurred-photo background until every exported slide has the same dimensions. Numbered filenames preserve the upload order.

FAQ
Instagram Carousel Resizer FAQ
What size should Instagram carousel photos be?
For a portrait carousel, 1080×1350 pixels (4:5) is a practical default. The tool also offers 1080×1440 (3:4), 1080×1080 (1:1) and 1080×566 (1.91:1). Use the same setting for every slide when you want a uniform series.
Can Instagram carousel photos have different sizes?
Instagram's Mixed or Original option can preserve different supported shapes on accounts where it is available. Photos outside the supported range can still crop, and a portrait or square series still needs one consistent canvas. This tool normalizes every exported slide without cutting off the source photo.
How can I avoid cropping landscape photos in a portrait carousel?
Select 4:5, then choose Solid color or Blurred photo. The landscape image is scaled to fit inside the portrait canvas and the unused area becomes background rather than being cropped away.
Does this resize videos too?
No. This page processes JPG, PNG and WebP photos only. It does not claim to resize video files.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The photos are decoded, resized and packaged into a ZIP locally in your browser.
