Large Photo Collage Maker
Turn 25–100 mixed portrait and landscape photos into one print-ready poster. Use this large collage maker for a 40-photo collage, 50-photo collage or full 100-photo collage while keeping every photo visible, checking the order, then downloading free without uploading your pictures.
Choose this page when the output is one big printable collage, not a proof sheet. If you need filenames under each thumbnail, use Contact Sheet Maker instead.

Many photos, one finished poster
Make a collage with 25, 50 or 100 photos
Most fixed collage templates stop after a handful of pictures. This large photo collage maker is for anniversary timelines, graduation classes, family archives, travel recaps and event posters where leaving out half the photos is not an acceptable shortcut.
Choose the same workflow for a 40-photo poster, a 50-photo family collage or a full 100-photo classroom print. The tool keeps the count, order review and no-crop status visible before export, so a large collage maker task does not turn into manual resizing file by file.
Add mixed portrait and landscape files in one batch. Smart rows balance their natural proportions instead of forcing every image into the same square, while Uniform grid remains available when equal cells matter more.
The visible count, order review and print-size controls are the large-collage checkpoints: add enough photos, confirm the sequence, keep Fit whole photo on when cropping would lose faces or signs, then download the final JPG or PNG.
Printing at home? Download your collage, then use Split Image for Printing to turn it into a numbered PDF across A4 or Letter sheets.
No-crop by default
Keep the complete photo visible
Fit whole photo preserves every edge. In Smart rows, each cell follows the photo's natural proportion. In Uniform grid, a small white margin can appear rather than silently trimming a face, sign or detail.
Choose Fill each space only when an edge-to-edge grid matters more than preserving every edge. The live crop status makes that tradeoff visible before download.
Order you can verify
Keep a trip, year or event in sequence
Start with selection order, oldest first, newest first or filename order. Review all photos in a real list, move any item up or down and replace one file without rebuilding the poster.
This review path is keyboard and screen-reader accessible, so ordering does not depend on precise dragging inside a visual canvas.
Step-by-step workflow
How to build a 50-photo collage
Arranging 50 photos is a common milestone for family celebrations, memorial boards, classroom rosters and annual recaps. Here is how to complete a 50-photo collage using the live controls:
- Batch upload 50 photos: Click Add photos or drop your files into the workspace (up to 100 JPG, PNG or WebP files supported). The counter verifies your placed photo total.
- Review sequence and placement: Select your initial sort (Selection order, Oldest first, Newest first, or Filename A–Z). Open Review photo order to view all photos, drag or use arrow buttons to adjust order, or swap out individual images.
- Smart rows vs. Uniform grid: For a typical mix of 50 photos (such as 30 landscape and 20 portrait shots), Smart rows balances natural aspect ratios into flowing rows so neither wide nor tall shots are forced into arbitrary boxes. Choose Uniform grid if equal-sized grid blocks are required.
- Fit whole photo vs. Fill crop: Keep Fit whole photo active so every edge, face and detail remains intact without cropping. Switch to Fill each space only when edge-to-edge cell coverage matters more than preserving the original photo perimeter.
- Choose poster size and export: Select your output format (20×30 in, 12×18 in, A3 portrait, or US Letter), then download as a print JPG or lossless PNG.
Print specifications
Print density & pixel resolution guide
The collage engine draws directly to full-dimension pixel canvases defined in our preset model:
| Preset | Physical Size | Output Pixels | Nominal Density | Canvas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| US Letter | 8.5 × 11 in | 2550 × 3300 px | 300 PPI | Letter canvas (no quality guarantee) |
| 12 × 18 in | 12 × 18 in | 2400 × 3600 px | 200 PPI | Frame canvas (no quality guarantee) |
| 20 × 30 in | 20 × 30 in | 3000 × 4500 px | 150 PPI | Poster canvas (no quality guarantee) |
| A3 portrait | 297 × 420 mm | 2480 × 3508 px | ~212 PPI | Poster canvas (no quality guarantee) |
Print size and image detail: Nominal print size is a canvas dimension and does not guarantee 300 PPI print density across all presets. Enlarging low-resolution source snapshots expands exported pixel dimensions but adds no actual optical detail. Physical print results depend on source file resolution, print settings (such as printing at 100% versus scaling to fit), paper choice, and external printer equipment.
Print output
Preview quickly, export at poster size
The live proof uses smaller local previews to stay responsive. A download reopens source photos one at a time and draws the same layout at the selected output size: 3000×4500 for 20×30, 2400×3600 for 12×18, plus A3 and US Letter options.
For a smaller social grid or individually cropped panels, use the Quick Photo Grid Maker. For an indexed overview of many files with filenames, sequence numbers and PDF printing, use the Contact Sheet Maker.
FAQ
Large photo collage questions
Can I make a collage with 100 photos online?
Yes. Add up to 100 JPG, PNG or WebP photos, review their order and download the finished collage as a print-size JPG or PNG.
How do I make a 50-photo collage?
Batch upload 50 photos (up to 100 supported). Review the sequence using selection order, date, or filename, then open the photo order dialog to adjust or replace files. Choose Smart rows to naturally balance mixed landscape and portrait shots, keep Fit whole photo active to prevent cropping, select a poster size, and download as a print JPG or PNG.
What is the print resolution and PPI of the exported collage?
Output pixel dimensions correspond to standard poster presets: US Letter (2550×3300 px) at 300 PPI, 12×18 in (2400×3600 px) at 200 PPI, 20×30 in (3000×4500 px) at 150 PPI, and A3 portrait (2480×3508 px) at approx 212 PPI. Nominal print size does not guarantee 300 PPI density across all presets, and enlarging low-resolution images adds no actual detail. Physical print results depend on source file resolution, print settings, and external printer equipment.
What makes this different from a regular collage maker?
The page is tuned for large collage maker jobs: 25 to 100 photos, no-crop smart rows, order review and print-size exports. For a small 2x2 or 3x3 layout, the quick Photo Grid Maker is faster. For a proof sheet with filenames, Contact Sheet Maker is the better match.
Will portrait or landscape photos be cropped?
Not by default. Fit whole photo and Smart rows keep complete portrait and landscape images visible. Fill each space is optional when edge-to-edge cells matter more than preserving every edge.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Source photos are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded to our server for collage editing.
Can I keep my photos in date order?
Yes. Use selection order, oldest first, newest first or filename order, then review and move individual photos before downloading.
What size is the downloaded collage?
Choose 20×30 inches at 3000×4500 pixels, 12×18 inches at 2400×3600 pixels, A3 portrait or US Letter.
